Establish the trust and partnership of your team, your stakeholders and the business. Build their alignment with and commitment to a shared vision and future for ER at VMware.

Assume ownership of cases and tracking in tool.

Evaluate the regional ER team operating model, structure and resourcing and adjust as needed in alignment with the vision. Included in this work will be clarification and alignment of the "seams" between ER in the Americas and other stakeholder groups, including roles and responsibilities and handoffs.

First 120 DaysBalance the historically reactive nature of ER case management with a focus on identifying trends and capability gaps that allow proactive solutions and capability building that reduce traditional ER case management challenges, in partnership with key stakeholders across HR, Legal, Compliance, and the Business.

Built knowledge of reporting and analysis capability for all work flowing through the ER team.

Partner to Identify areas of risk and opportunity and develop/lead initiatives to drive improvement and measurable change.

Partner with team and stakeholders to identify prioritized opportunities for scaling, clarity, consistency, and improved employee experience.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Leverage your subject matter expertise in performance and conflict management, employment law, investigations and risk assessment.Areas of responsibility include:Provide day-to-day partnership to customers in all areas of case management.Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance regarding company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training.Identify opportunities to influence and positively impact the employee experience at VMware by:Advise and consult with HR, business leaders, and employment counsel on position eliminations, and policy interpretation.

Consult with HR, legal, Ethics & Compliance and other stakeholders to deliver seamless support.

Conducting sensitive investigations.

Analyze ER data/metrics for trends, gaps, and root cause identification.

Assist with advancing ER initiatives as directed.

Guide and train managers in overall performance management concepts in alignment with company philosophy, practices, and processes.

Spend 75% of your time directly conducting investigations and other employee relation matters.

Employee experience is at the core of everything this team drives. This role is U.S. based but does not have a specific location or VMware office requirement. The role can be done remotely from a home office, or flexibly in proximity to a VMware office at the employee's preference.Where is this role located?Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
