This is a unique opportunity to join a committed team focused on accuracy, problem-solving and supporting the financial well-being of the organization while positively impacting the lives of families and educators across the country.This role will offer a salary range of: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 annuallyAbout the Role:We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the Accounts Receivable and subsidy billing processes. The successful candidate is a self-starter, passionate about executing their work with a high degree of attention to detail, with proven experience in problem-solving, You will work cross-functionally, collaborating with multiple teams to support the Accounts Receivable processes and government subsidy billing. Your partnership with the Subsidy Manager will drive collaborative efforts and support data integrity while you support the Accounting function in resolving inquiries and assist in audits, reporting and projects. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a deep sense of resourcefulness, attention to detail, and a solution-based mindset all while flexing your skills in Excel and delivering accurate, efficient and complete results. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager. What You’ll Do and Achieve:

Manage Accounts Receivable processes, including:

Creating and Sending Account statements

Following up on Collection inquiries

Assisting with invoice creation

Support the end-to-end process of government subsidy billing, including

Calculating subsidy billing balances

Reconciling Monthly accrual amounts

Cash application processes

Act as the liaison between the Subsidy Manager and the Accounting department to ensure data integrity

Work with government agencies to resolve billing discrepancies

Assist with annual financial audit and annual tax return

Collect and process physical mail received in office

Ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned

RequirementsWhat We’d Like You to Have:

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years work experience, preferably in an administrative, customer service, or accounting function

A resourceful self-starter mindset with a proven record of taking initiative and ownership over processes

Strong attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and highly communication-driven team environment

Ability to apply problem-solving skills independently and complete effective research as needed

Proven track record of accurate and on-time delivery of responsibilities with exceptional time-management skills

Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace

QuickBooks or NetSuite experience is preferred

Strong ability to effectively communicate
