Job DescriptionField Application Scientist, ProteomicsLocation: Remote USA, must be close to a major airport. Field position traveling 75% of the time (3 out of 4 weeks in a month) across state lines.This opening is for a highly qualified and self-motivated individual to support our latest generation LC-MS instrumentation as a Field Application Scientist. As a member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific North America Center of Excellence, the candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary matrix team that includes regional sales representatives, marketing and service professionals, product development scientists, and engineers. Primary responsibilities will be to support the commercial field sales team by providing post-sales support of recently installed Orbitrap systems in the large molecule mass spectrometry market with an emphasis on proteomics applications. The support will mainly be at customer sites (within North America) and focus on rapidly jump-starting customers for future success. Additional responsibilities include providing pre-sales support to both our customers and the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry sales team to position them for successful wins.Responsibilities:

Provide post-sales technical and application assistance in response to customer enquiries (both internal and external), including education, training, on-site visits, and remote/virtual support.

Build new customer advocates from newly completed sales.

Assist with customer demonstrations as appropriate.

Prepare and present technical seminars to existing and potential customers, either as part of the sales process or at organized events.

Deepen and broaden Thermo Fisher Scientific’s customer relationships with key scientific and educational leaders.

Assist in developing informative content; examples include company hosted websites, videos, seminars, applications reports, eLearning material, etc.

Basic Requirements:

5+ years of related experience with a master’s degree is required or 2+ years of related experience with a PhD is preferred.

3+ years of hands-on LCMS experience.

Experience with qualitative and quantitative proteomics LCMS workflows (e.g. label free quantitation, TMT, PTM analysis and discovery proteomics) and associated sample preparation techniques.

This position requires extensive contact with customers and therefore outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required.

A proven track record to work independently and a strong work ethic is critical.

Ability to travel up to 75% within North America.

Requires proof of Covid 19 vaccination

The salary range estimated for this position is $85,000 - 100,000 This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
