PURPOSE:A good front end developer should always be interested in learning about new technologies and understand that frameworks come and go, but having a good foundation in basics like JavaScript and CSS and the underlying concepts that drive each will allow you to thrive in a new technology where others might struggle.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement guest facing user experiences using a mix of front end technologies based in JavaScript and CSS.
  • Work with UX team to implement responsive designs that follow a mobile-first methodology.
  • Adhere to coding standards to write code that is understandable by everyone on the team.
  • Write unit tests that emphasize quality over line coverage .
  • Communicate with other developers both on your team and other teams throughout the organization.
  • Visual eye for breaking down a comp into its individual UI components in order to articulate the implementation details when requested.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good foundation with both JavaScript and CSS.
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing responsive websites.
  • Working knowledge of browser debugging tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Know just enough of 1 or more JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular to be dangerous.
  • Experience working with CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS.
  • Understanding of source control management systems such as Git.
