Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionJoin a family-owned company that collaborates with local farms in Rantoul, IL to distribute pork products across the Midwest. As a General Production Worker, you will be involved in the de-boning of pork items. You will be working in a state-of-the-art facility that is not a slaughterhouse. Here, large cuts of meat arrive from a central plant and are further processed to remove bones and other excess parts. This role involves precise cutting with handheld blades on a production line while adhering to GMP standards.Responsibilities
Work on production lines to de-bone pork items using handheld blades.
Wear special gloves and wrist guards for protection and warmth.
Stand in the same area for the entire shift, handling the same cut of meat for efficiency.
Operate rollers to trim excess meat off parts.
Wear hair nets, beard nets, and clean smock jackets in the refrigerated facility.
Follow GMP attire requirements including sweatshirts, hoodies, or hats for added warmth.
Work in a repetitive role but rotate through different stages of the production line as skills develop.
Essential Skills
Ability to consistently lift 30 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in a position that requires standing for an entire day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Any production experience is a plus.
Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
Background in food handling such as butcher, cook, etc.
Experience working in a refrigerated environment.
