Title : HADOOP TECHNICAL SUPPORT LEAD

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 12 Months + Extension

Job Description:In this role, you will be responsible for leading team (technically and/or hierarchically) supporting Incident and Problem resolution for Product Teams, providing end-to-end resolution to ensure completion of all jobs within defined objectives. Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with other teams to remediate and implement to production in order to minimize impact to customers and/or downstream. The role also involves engaging and partnering with Applications Development teams, and various platform owners such as Hadoop Admin, Talend Admin, etc. and also interfacing with executive and Senior Management with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and remediation actions. Functions:
  • Ownership,maintenance and support of Data Lake Hadoop on prem and Azure cloud implementations.
  • Coordination of platform maintenance, including change and release management (planned and emergency deployments, configuration and patching).
  • Real-time systemmonitoring (custom and off-the-shelf tools). Engineer and implementcustom monitoring solutions if needed.
  • Participation of Run books development.
  • End-to-end Incident and Problem resolution for Data Product Teams.
  • Responsible to ensure that the applications met their required service level
  • Responsible to support process improvements to continuously improve the stability and performance of the platform
  • Identify system bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvements
  • Perform in-depth research and identify sources of production issues.
  • Effectively perform root cause analysis of issues and report the outcome to business community and Management.
  • Develop / utilize core support tools and processes to perform work while improving day-to-day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering serviceimprovements to the business.
Experience required
    • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 7-10 plus years of professional experience in IT
    • Strong communication skills, with prior experience in requirements gathering and working with SMEs and Stakeholders at various leadership levels.
    • Excellent performance tuning and trouble shooting skills
    • Strong grasp of data integration and virtualization tools like Talend, Data Stage, Denodo Data Bridge
    • Familiar with Hadoop security knowledge and permissions schemes
    • Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonalskills
    • Experience working in cross-functional, multi-location teams
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong technical documentation skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to multi-task /change focus quickly.
    • Must be a team player.
    • Understanding of platform governance functions for Hadoop and Azure
