Duration: 12-18 Months+
  • HYBRID/REMOTE. Currently, contingent EPMO staff can work remotely. However, in the future, Senior Project Managers will be asked to work on site either in Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX. You must be able to work in a hybrid onsite work situation.
  • Description:This position is responsible for leading projects of various sizes and complexity within a large, complex EPMO. This team has several large programs underway and a record new number of initiatives planned for 2022. Candidate must be able to work on projects where they had to partner with other Project Managers as well as work independently to accomplish multiple concurrent tasks. This includes challenging yet strategic stakeholder management responsibilities as well as assuming “lower level” tasks such as meeting coordination and documentation. You must be comfortable and willing to work both ends of the spectrum.

    Responsibilities:
    • Demonstrates advanced project management skills by ensuring the project scope is aligned with the stated business objectives, setting and managing customer expectations, managing and escalating issues and changes.
    • Perform Project Planning. Create / build / update project schedules, project charters, project plans, status reports, and work breakdown structures.
    • Perform Project Scope Management. Effectively manage project work within the stated scope.
    • Perform Project Cost Management/Budget Management. Manage Estimated Time to Complete tasks (ETCs) and reconcile ETCs based on recommended guidelines.
    • Perform Quality Management.
    • Perform meeting management and documentation, including coordinating, running and documenting meetings, as needed.
    • Issue/Risk management

    • Technical Project Manager
    • Project Driver attitude
    • Someone that can work in a fast paced, unstructured environment.
    • Someone that is a self-starter and can work independently.
    • Healthcare, Insurance, Claims or Government-mandated industry is highly preferred.
    • Excellent stakeholder management is required – Develop relationships quickly, keep people informed and create a collaborative environment and resolve technical barriers with minimal oversight
    • Ability to roll up sleeves and do project management work at all levels when needed for back-up, support, short peaks in work, etc.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Presentation and facilitation skills need to be very strong.
    • Understanding and documentation of project financials. Project cost management. Sr. PMs are really the accountants of their own projects
    • Agile Methodology experience. Agile, Waterfall and/or a hybrid is preferred
    • Willingness/experience sharing project management responsibilities with other Project Managers on the same project.
    • Thick-skinned. Willingness to be assigned tasks from other PMs who might have less experience/abilities. Be more interested in the success of the project than the role you have on the project.
    • Ask questions to help people articulate/address/call out any potential issues or risks.
