High Level RF Power Engineer

Title: High Level RF Power EngineerLocation: Fermilab | Batavia, ILDuration: 1 year contractRecruiting for this position closes on February 28th

• Provide Power engineering support to design, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and operation of the following High Power RF Systems in the Accelerator Complex
  • Booster/Recycler/Main Injector Modulators
  • Booster/Main Injector Bias Tuners
  • Booster/Main Injector Grid Bias Supplies
  • Booster/Recycler/Main Injector Solid State Amplifiers
• Provide Power engineering support for testing, troubleshooting, operations of the following systems in support of PIP-II and SRF facilities
  • High Power IOT at 650 MHz
  • High Power SSA at 162.5 MHz, 325 MHz, 650 MHz
  • Component qualification of circulators, couplers, loads, distribution networks at 162.5 MHz, 325 MHz, 650 MHz
  • High Power klystrons at 1.3 GHz

• Experience with high power (> 1 kW) RF and microwave frequency systems
  • Amplifiers
  • Couplers
  • Distribution
• Experience with radio frequency and GHz frequency Linac and Cyclotron power systems
• Measurement experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and function generators
• Experience acceptance testing and qualifying RF system components
• Experience operating RF systems in an R&D/Accelerator facility
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and LabView
• Familiarity with using Teamcenter
• Experience with authoring engineering note and specification documentation
