Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding HR Generalist who will support our team on internal and external HR matters that directly impact our company culture and employee engagement. We’re a small, forward-thinking team that innovates and adapts to meet lofty goals with a focus on driving impact and results. We value ideation and collaboration, as well as rolling up our sleeves and getting the hard work done. In addition to partnering closely with all People Team members, you will also work closely with other key collaborators such as IT and Hiring Managers.

This is a full-time position located in Chicago and reporting to the Sr. Director, Head of People. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work from home candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2-3 times per week (when it is safe to do so).

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Run our New Hire Orientation program and partner with Recruiting, IT, and Workplace teams to ensure smooth onboarding for our new hires.

  • Be responsible for the organization’s HRIS system (Workday) and prepare reports related to payroll, employee demographics, and more.

  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity; identify and surface key insights and trends.

  • Support our Learning & Development Manager with project management, logistics, and operations of core initiatives, including; Compliance trainings, management and leadership trainings, internal coaching/mentoring programs, and new hire activities.

  • Own company-wide people programs from start to finish and use effective project management approaches to help the team deliver high quality programs, improve outcomes, and use data to evaluate outcomes and iterate.

  • Lead vendor contracts and invoicing processes, maintain regular communication channels and lead program and project logistics.

  • Approach your role with a growth-mindset by keeping up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices

Qualifications

You will also be successful in the role if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 2-4 years of project management and work experience in a related field (Learning & Development, Talent Management, Leadership Development, HR, Communications)

  • Experience processing HR and benefits requests, as well as record keeping

  • Fundamental knowledge of HR functions and best practices

  • Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate with business stakeholders at all organizational levels

  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets deadlines; detail oriented

  • Ability to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a real passion for solving problems while being resourceful

  • Technical proficiency in Google Business Suite, HRIS softwares - Workday preferred

  • Strong work ethic and initiative

  • Facilitation experience preferred

  • Experience with Lessonly or a comparable LMS is a plus
