Position: Infrastructure Environment Manager Location: Richardson, TX or Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Type: Long Term Contract This person will be responsible for ensuring the test environments meet the needs of both releases and independent projects. This involves coordinating the synchronization of hardware and software updates (operating systems, database, middleware, applications, etc.). This requires solid technical, written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver and a good communicator, eager to find ways to help in the creation and deployment of quality-solid software.
- Overall ownership of non-production environments.
- Partner with product and Infrastructure teams to finalize environment requirements during planning , identify environment risks.
- Escalation for application issues preventing testing. Maintain schedule for use of environments.
- Coordinate sharing of environments among projects to ensure effective utilization.
- Measure and report on environment availability metrics. Identify and implement process improvements to avoid issues in the future.
- Manage and communicate environment updates with current production data snapshot and source code. Work with other organizations to secure resources (e.g., space) for non-production release environments.
- Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards and participate in company communities of practice to continuously refine and communicate them. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to your team in your technical field(s) of expertise.
- Experience test environment management and configuration management.
- Experience working with QA, Production Support, Development
- Experience working with Environments and Release Management with large scale transformations.
- DevOps, Agile, CI/CD experience
- Excellent knowledge of full range of infrastructure components and functions
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Ability to manage relationships with various organization and individuals across IT.
- Capable of multi-tasking and rebalancing priorities
