(This position requires being onsite in a Medline facility 2 days per week in the Chicago area) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrate expertise with the transportation management system (TMS) and familiarity with warehouse processes and ERP systems.
- Present innovative options for addressing the requests at hand and recommend the best course of action based on requirements coverage and effort required.
- Perform functional analysis for designing solutions, evaluating options that include, but are not limited to: new software development, configuration of existing systems, business process redesign, new package/system evaluation or a combination of these options.
- Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with users and management to determine business needs and translate them to system requirements.
- Serve as point person for addressing issues and enhancements related to the specific product and functional area.
- Design, review, and document test cases that prove the business scenarios for desired functionality.
- Deliver software requirements to developers and serve as the developers point of contact for clarification and follow-up throughout the development process.
- Manage implementation plans for releasing system enhancements or new Software solutions to production
- Drive process improvement within the team as we continue to grow with agile and DevOps tools and methodologies.
- Focus on quality during all phases of Software development, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain/Logistics, or similar.
- 5+ years of business systems analyst experience and working with cross-functional teams
- 3+ years of experience working with Logistics/TMS systems
- Proficient in reading and/or writing SQL, analyzing SQL packages/procedures/functions etc
- High learning agility. Position will often require learning new areas of business and new software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Curiosity to dig into how systems work and be hands on throughout the development life-cycle
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience designing and implementing supply chain capabilities such as real time shipment tracking, simulation of what-if scenarios, automated incident detection/notification/resolution
- Experience designing and implementing user-facing web and/or mobile applications
- Experience within the Transportation industry with processes such as transportation optimization, carrier rate tariffs, and EDI transportation communications
- Experience in an operations/distribution environment. Engineering or Systems experience.
- Experience with DevOps tools (ie. Jira, Zephyr, Splunk, SonarQube, etc)
