THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The IT Manager - Cloud is responsible for leading the creation of a technology implementation framework and providing technical leadership in support of ULTA's initiatives in cloud computing, with a focus on the incident resolution, change management of services that run on cloud platforms.

The IT Manager - Cloud will work closely with product management, software developers and system/database engineers to understand requirements and participate in cloud build and provisioning discussions.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH ALL THIS BY:
  • Accountability/Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to be a strategic thought partner with Cloud and Business owner teams to enable data driven decision making. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining, and working on stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. Ability to "take charge" and be accountable for networking evolution across all phases from requirements, design, develop, QA, and support.
  • Innovation/Strategic Thinking: Ability to articulate a holistic vision and strategy for Cloud across the enterprise at Ulta and seeks opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products for the advancement of cloud and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Ability to objectively evaluate and challenge the status quo and leverage the right methodologies to accelerate progress. Develops enterprise-wide integration and processes that ensure that the strategic application of change is embedded in the management of the organization, ensuring the buy-in of all stakeholders.
  • Quality and Performance Management: Ensures that there is high quality cloud technology and the tools and technologies provided meet the organization's needs and objectives and reviews it as necessary so that our associate experience is positive. Leverages the right level of technology, QA, automation, procedures, and resources to support this quality. Builds and establishes measurements around operational methods, procedures, and tools, and validates that they are reviewed and maintained. Manages service delivery to ensure that agreed targets are met for the cloud platforms, tools, and integrations.
  • Technology and Organizational Development: Leads cloud engineering team through the resource planning, recruitment, selection, assessment, on-boarding and transitioning of resources to ensure that the organization has appropriately skilled resources to meet organizational objectives and commitments. Provides coaching and support and delegates responsibilities where possible, to achieve corporate objectives. Ensures performance objectives, and monitors progress against agreed quality and performance criteria and goals. Competency and experience in using various project management techniques to provide clarity of roles and expectations to cross-functional team members across IT organization and holds others accountable when appropriate. Has a holistic understanding of cloud technologies to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables from the team.

SIBILITIES:
  • Drive culture and provide leadership for the cloud engineering team to achieve superior business results.
  • Collaborate in creating and executing 3-year strategy roadmaps outlining the technologies and investments in infrastructure to ensure network systems are meeting established service level agreements while staying consistent with industry best practices.
  • Manage and create project plans for near-term projects.
  • Perform capacity planning to ensure operational stability and availability of the team's operating system offering.
  • Assist in response to external audits, penetration tests, vulnerability assessments and forensic investigations.
  • Contribute to release management, disaster recovery, change control, incident, and problem management for the enterprise technical support functions.
  • Manage, support, and optimize all information technology cloud infrastructure including but not limited to: Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform Cloud

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
  • 7+ years' progressive experience with virtual machines, linux, storage, compute, virtualization technologies, automation, network management, middleware, database
  • 2 years of experience leading technology teams
  • 2 years of cloud infrastructure experience
  • Be the ambassador for the cloud team using strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience executing large scale production projects with minimal downtime and limited impact on systems and applications.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks, while demonstrating poise in a high-pressure environment.
  • Extremely self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong partnering/relationship building skills
  • Effective leader of cross functional teams; able to motivate others to drive desired results
  • Off-Hours support including 24x7 on-call required.
  • Minimal travel required (training/conferences)
