Job Description

We are seeking anIT Systems/NetworkEngineer Systems for a direct-hire in (downtown) Chicago, IL. Inthis role, you willprovide day-to-day support and maintenance ofnetwork infrastructure, server-based hardware, operating systems, and application software. This individual will troubleshoot business-critical incidents, working with staff, IT support specialist, consultants and contractors.This role will require you to be customer focused, pro-active, accept ownership, have a sense of urgency and understand the culture and complexity of handling sensitive information. Additional responsibilities include:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization’s network infrastructure, which includes routers, switches, WAPs, data circuits, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
  • Management, configuration, performance, and maintenance of the orgtechnologies, which includes VMWare Hyperconverged infrastructure, Windows servers, and desktops.
  • Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Monitors all system alerts, backups, and security logs and remediate as needed.
  • Monitor backup operations and troubleshoot as needed. Will also validate backups can be retrieved and restored on a quarterly basis.

Qualifications

  • Cisco LAN/WAN routing and configuration
  • VMware vSphere and Horizon
  • Microsoft Exchange, Mimecast, SMTP, Messaging administration
  • Palo Alto firewalls
  • Azure or other SaaS solutions
  • Active Directory Services
  • Backup and recovery techniques
  • Group policy administration
  • Strong technical knowledge of servers, LAN/WAN, VOIP, remote access solutions, virtualization, firewalls, and MDM management
  • Experience with N-tier application architecture and design
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as the SE is responsible for communicating technical information to non-technical customers in non-technical terms.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing legal environment.
  • Experience with Powershell or other scripting languages

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise class servers and applications
  • Virtual Server Support experience needed as the environment is virtual
  • Experience with Network Support (Cisco environment)

Additional Information

This direct hire role will be located in downtown Chicago, IL. There will be partial remote options during the pandemic; howeverthis role will require onsite visits, so candidateswho are local to the Chicagoland area (or those who wish to relocate on theirown for this role) and can commute to the office downtwonare encouraged to apply.
