We are looking for an Infrastructure Level 2 PC Support Technician who is detail-oriented, proficient with multiple client / server technologies. The successful candidate will work with numerous software programs, clients, and other technical staff, and often need to do field analysis and maintenance. Their responsibilities include upgrading and improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, and providing technical support and training for users.This role is on-site at the Chicago office, but the ideal candidate must be flexible to travel up to 20% of the time, within 10 miles of the site, depending on business needs. Must have clean DL record and reliable transportation. Duration: Contract Only: 6 months, with strong possibility to extend and renew Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining operating environments.
  • Monitoring these operating environments and responding to issues proactively.
  • Responding effectively and speedily to any problems.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.
  • Providing training and support to level 1 staff and documenting knowledge base articles.
  • Ensuring operating environments stay safe and secure.
  • Updating any software and hardware where necessary.
  • Documenting all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response.
Requirements:
  • Must have 5+ years technical support experience.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of current networking protocols and standards
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Knowledge of network technologies and topologies, TCP / IP based routing and switching, firewalls, and IDS / IPS
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ticket or support software (such as ServiceNow)
  • Linux and Windows-based servers, VMWare and associated hardware
  • Nice to have - Office 365, SharePoint, Citrix Certifications such as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V), or Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect (AWS CSA)
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time; may fluctuate based on business needs.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
