Lead Network Engineer

Contract to hireUsing advanced knowledge and skill, this position performs a leading role in evaluating, designing, implementing and monitoring server and storage for optimal availability, performance, security and recovery. Position works closely with Director, Systems and Network Operations to oversee systems functionality and manage team of systems administrators.Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with a strong working knowledge of Cisco firewalls/Unified Communication, load balancers such as F5, wireless
• Knowledge of AWS Connect call center platform, Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba wireless, AWS Direct Connect
• Coaches, mentors, trains and evaluates Network Engineers
• Develop documentation and procedures to maintain network integrity
• System-build checklists to enforce standardization
• Maintains accurate hardware & software inventory of company assets, insuring license compliance is strictly enforced
• Develop IT policies and best practices
• Using strong customer service skills combined with strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills aligns and prioritizes our Network Operations staff resources to resolve reported issues
• Works with Apps teams, Infosec and vendors to determine technology needs, evaluate and implement to meet business requirements
• Keep a pulse of current technology trends and communicate applicable solutions to leaders and staff
• Evaluates, recommends, implements and monitors our strategic network, including firewalls, load balancing equipment, Cloud and CPE phone systems, VPN, wireless and route/switch technology
• Make recommendations for improvements in software, hardware and network systems
• Works with Infosec on security initiatives
• Implements security policies and promotes best data security practices
• Proactive Firewall design
• Coordinate and participate in annual DR tests

• Professional level writing, editing and communications skills, as demonstrated by the ability to convey complex information and concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Excellent organization skills and proven ability to adapt to change and meet tight deadlines
• Proven project management skills including the ability to scope projects, develop plans and guide resources.
• Expert in Cisco/Palo Alto firewalls, network routing protocols, and implementing and configuring, switches and routers.
• Proficiency in implementing security protocols
• Proficient knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies
