Description Robert Half is seeking a Family Law Legal Assistant in Chicago, Illinois. Candidates must have at least 2+ years of experience. The chosen individual will be part of a dynamic team, providing high-quality legal support in a variety of family law domains. This role involves assisting attorneys, conducting legal and factual research, managing case files, and liaising with clients. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Assist attorneys in preparing and drafting premarital and post-nuptial agreements Support the preparation of necessary legal documentation for both negotiated and litigated divorce cases Provide administrative support during courtroom hearings, including scheduling and document management Conduct comprehensive legal and factual research related to family law cases Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax reports using relevant accounting software Manage case files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date legal records Liaise with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure a smooth legal process Monitor updates to family law regulations and case law to ensure our practice is current Support the client communication process, ensuring all correspondence is accurately recorded and relayed. Skills: Proficiency in Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and Management System Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites Experience with Billing Functions, Briefing, and Calendar Management Experience in Complaint Handling and Documentation Expertise in Family LawRequirements Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role Familiarity with Management System and Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel Experience in drafting and Briefing legal documents Proven skills in Calendar Management and scheduling appointments Strong Documentation skills, ensuring all legal paperwork is correctly filed and updated Specialization or extensive experience in Family Law is highly desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A law degree or paralegal certification would be advantageous Ability to maintain confidentiality and act within ethical and legal boundaries Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
