The Machine Vision Engineer will provide day-to-day tactical execution of engineering tasks. The person in this position is expected to follow company standards, use best practices, and must have a firm understanding of the tools used within the organization across the software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines. The person in this position must be insightful, a broad thinker, a problem solver and committed to achieving corporate goals and objectives. He or she must also be eager to execute new ideas, stay current with the latest technologies and help develop products that support profitable growth. Some travel may be required. Experience with high speed machine vision solutions in the global packaging market is a plus. You will utilize cutting edge hardware, software, and services into groundbreaking, innovative solutions in pursuit of our vision. Responsibilities & Qualifications 1. Vision Applications Knowledge of internal vision hardware and designs, optics, and camera logic Experience in machine learning algorithms for vision problems Experience with OpenCV, NI Vision, or other machine vision library is a plus Assist with design concepts of new products and applications Some experience with Python/C/C# is preferred 2. Software/Electrical/Mechanical Experience with multiples OS's, including Windows, Linux, Windows CE, and NI-OS Experience with software development lifecycle in C, C#, Python, and LabVIEW is a plus Comfort with software toolchains and build systems Support and test the electronic designs of equipment, products, and systems Develop and maintain electrical product schematics, manufacturing and installation instructions Test, evaluate, and report on new vendor products and prototypes Ability to understand 2D and 3D CAD drawings Modify existing designs and recommend design improvements to existing products 3. Application Testing Be able to develop, setup, and test real-world scenarios Work within established test processes for running live system tests Integrate multiple components for testing on a single platform Work within established systems for issue tracking, source control, and vision designs Analyze and make recommendations to improve programs and processes 4.
