The Machine Vision Engineer will provide day-to-day tactical execution of engineering tasks. The person in this position is expected to follow company standards, use best practices, and must have a firm understanding of the tools used within the organization across the software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.The person in this position must be insightful, a broad thinker, a problem solver and committed to achieving corporate goals and objectives. He or she must also be eager to execute new ideas, stay current with the latest technologies and help develop products that support profitable growth. Some travel may be required.Experience with high speed machine vision solutions in the global packaging market is a plus. You will utilize cutting edge hardware, software, and services into groundbreaking, innovative solutions in pursuit of our vision.Responsibilities & Qualifications 1. Vision ApplicationsKnowledge of internal vision hardware and designs, optics, and camera logicExperience in machine learning algorithms for vision problemsExperience with OpenCV, NI Vision, or other machine vision library is a plusAssist with design concepts of new products and applicationsSome experience with Python/C/C# is preferred2. Software/Electrical/MechanicalExperience with multiples OS's, including Windows, Linux, Windows CE, and NI-OSExperience with software development lifecycle in C, C#, Python, and LabVIEW is a plusComfort with software toolchains and build systemsSupport and test the electronic designs of equipment, products, and systemsDevelop and maintain electrical product schematics, manufacturing and installation instructionsTest, evaluate, and report on new vendor products and prototypesAbility to understand 2D and 3D CAD drawingsModify existing designs and recommend design improvements to existing products3. Application TestingBe able to develop, setup, and test real-world scenariosWork within established test processes for running live system testsIntegrate multiple components for testing on a single platformWork within established systems for issue tracking, source control, and vision designsAnalyze and make recommendations to improve programs and processes4. SupportDevelop and maintain and product documentation using best-practices toolsWork within the ERP system to manage product changesTest and evaluate customer scenarios and applicationsAssist on-site at customers with installation and support when necessaryProvide training and support to internal and external customersCreate and maintain procedures, develop manufacturing and installation instructionsMinimum Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering or related disciplineExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent work ethic and positive attitudeA strong, personal self-discipline, ability to work independently, and self-motivated learnerSomeone who enjoys highly technical, hands-on workSomeone who enjoys solving complex information technology interoperability problemsEspo CorporationWillowbrook, IL 60527
