- Accountable for the direct management/leadership of the Product Information Management (PIM) team members (including interviewing selection, performance appraisals, coaching and development, workload prioritization, role definition, etc.)
- Act as strategic partner and provide thought leadership to Merchandising, Planning, Inventory and Ecommerce (and other departments as necessary) regarding item master data and PIM
- Lead team through system implementations, administration, development and adherence to best practices, and change management
- Direct tactical and strategic initiatives supporting the overall enterprise roadmap
- Provide and continuously develop governance to ensure master data integrity
- Identify and provide recommendations for process, reporting, and/or system enhancements that align with the strategic roadmap
- Build ROIs/business cases to understand and communicate benefits of projects
- Create and adhere to budgets for initiatives as well as day to day department support
- Manage project expectations with steering committee, project teams and other stakeholders
- Partner with IT to ensure the infrastructure and development of data models are built to support the strategic roadmap for item master data and PIM
- Develop and manage full scale project plans and associated communication documents in partnership with the business sponsors and the project team
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans
- Define project success criteria and disseminate to the involved parties
- Oversee the coordination and facilitation of testing and training with user community
- Minimum of 8 years work experience in a master data capacity or five years of experience in a Merchandising Operations role in Retail
- Minimum of five years supervisory experience
- Extensive experience in multiple and/or large scale project management, preferably within the context of a retail environment or commensurate business experience
- Working knowledge of Merchandising and Supply Chain Process Best Practices
- Retail business background with strong process and systems acumen
- Demonstrated successful mastery of major components of product lifecycle management within the context of major systems implementations
- BS or BA University degree
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines while using analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, project team and other departments within the organization
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
- Strong presentation skills
- Possesses the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change
