The scope of the program is to leverage the new IPSD C13D engine core design and marinize it, for use in the marine commercial and high-performance market. You will also be responsible for other on-going C9.3 - 18-liter marine product improvement projects.To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate executive presence, strong business acumen, and ability to deliver on a project timeline. It is critical for you to be comfortable addressing personnel challenges related to your assigned projects as well as managing and elevating challenges that arise within the program.Scope of Work:Annual Capital Expenditures Influenced: $2 - $5MAnnual Research & Development Budget: $2 - $10MProduct Responsibility – NPI Leadership for Cat Medium Vee MarineWhat you will do:

Manage product objectives to align to scope of project and manage tradeoffs

Provide input into departmental marketing strategies for assigned products and markets.

Acts as the NPI expert in supporting project team’s milestones are delivered.

Help develop a pilot, pre-production and validation plan that is needed to go to market with no quality spikes or “Spike Free”.

Ensure program is optimized to meet product cost targets.

Create manufacturing sourcing plan for engine assembly location, based on final regional location

Negotiate changes to programs including cost, price, requirements, supplier selection, etc.

Ensure the supply base and manufacturing facility are ready to make the product and ramp to production volumes.

Work with the product support and aftermarket team to ensure dealer readiness, market support and parts/kits offerings are available

Have a strong business acumen with understanding of a product P&L, product cost, and be able to manage program capital investment

Demonstrated the ability to lead high new content programs that drive significant capital investment and process changes

What you must have:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in a combination of engineering and product development OR 10+ years of experience in a combination of engineering and product development.

4+ years of experience in NPI project leadership for engines or component development demonstrating ability to accomplish tasks without direct authority of the project team

Top candidates will also have:

Marine application knowledge

Ability to adapt their communication style – present to executives and working level team members

Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated strong initiative, sense of urgency, and work with diverse groups to reach consensus

Expertise in situational awareness and leadership

Understanding of engineering processes – such as PPAP, APQP, CPI, BIQ, AQE, NPI, Aftermarket, Product Support, etc.

Ability to manage conflict resolution, negotiating, and managing team through roadblocks.

Business acumen – understands and can interpret profit & loss statement and product cost accounting methods to make product/project decisions
