Description We are seeking a Medicare Billing Coordinator to join our healthcare team located in CHICAGO, Illinois. In this role, you will be working closely with residents who need state resources to meet their financial obligations related to nursing home care. As a Medicare Billing Coordinator, you will focus on the accurate and timely billing of Medicaid for assigned facilities. Responsibilities: Ensure accurate selection of payers for new residents by verifying eligibility on admission documentation Complete and submit Admission Packets ensuring completeness and obtaining resident/guardian and facility signatures before submission to Public Aid within the required timeframe Conduct monthly reconciliations of resident financial accounts to resolve any outstanding balances Submit regular monthly billing statements and any unbilled claims to Public Aid to secure accurate and timely payments Conduct weekly eligibility verification for residents to ensure status and payer information is accurate Complete and return redetermination (REDE) forms upon receipt in a timely manner to prevent cancellation of resident cases and interruption of payments Complete and return Social Security Rep Reports forms promptly to ensure continuity of resident's income Review resident cases monthly, investigate any income changes for accuracy, and communicate any adjustments to the facility as needed Participate in monthly training sessions to maintain competency and proficiency in Medicaid billing and administrative assistance. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Requirements Must possess knowledge and experience in Medicaid and Medicaid Billing Proficiency in administrative assistance tasks is required Must have a thorough understanding of Medicare regulations, guidelines, and billing procedures Experience in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industries is a plus Should have excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with medical terminology and coding is advantageous Proficiency in using billing software and other related computer applications Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards Should be detail-oriented and possess analytical skills to handle billing discrepancies Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
