The Demand Planning Manager leads in the development of accurate demand plans and scenarios by improving the statistical forecast baseline, gathering and merging insights from Sales, Marketing, CD&D and facilitating discussions to reach consensus on future demand.Scope:
North America Pet solution business which covers Pet Premix (Effingham), Pet ingredients (Versity, Rice…), Pet treats and kibbles (Crosswind and PetDine)
Mix of internal and external sales
Relations:
Direct reporting to the Director of Pet Solution Supply chain
Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain: very close coordination and understanding of these functions
CD&D, Marketing, Procurement, Quality

Responsibilities:
Leads the Demand Planning process throughout the business as either a team leader or individual contributor.
Drive Collaboration with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure that partners are providing necessary inputs into the demand plan.
Owns key portions of the S&OP cycle related to Demand Planning
Maintains statistical model in the demand planning tool
Generates statistical forecast, calculates forecast error, bias, and value add and drives action plans to improve forecast accuracy
Gathers necessary inputs for the demand review meetings
Facilitates the demand review meetings
Reviews monetized financial impact
Identifies needs for alternative demand scenario based on risks
Works with Supply Planner to balance supply/demand imbalances
This role is responsible for short, medium, and long-term forecasting
Oversee processes such as scheduling monthly reviews (Demand/Supply)
Leadership:
Leads a small team of cross-discipline Supply Chain Planning professionals
Supports hiring, onboarding and training new employees
Develops the team and individual employees
Influences without authority, including to Business Leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering
5 years of experience within the industry including minimum 3 years in Supply Chain Planning
Training: APICS / CSCP certification a plus
Skills:
Understanding of the end-to-end S&OP process
Functional experience in Demand Planning and/or Replenishment Planning
Strong technical and analytical expertise to support Demand Planning
Strong experience with ERP/MRP, APS, Demand Planning software. Experience in building ad hoc solutions is critical.
Business and financial acumen
Knowledge of manufacturing process and target markets

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge in marketing analytics, reporting, and leveraging account-based intent data
Strong interpersonal skills are a must. Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
