Network Engineer role in Schaumburg, IL - Need onsite

We need a contractor for a 1 year project in Schaumburg, IL – must be onsite and currently local.Our client is a municipality with 300 networking devices. Will do the following:

• Document the network using Visio.
• Regular management of network equipment, including routers, switches, servers, and related network components. Deployment through support.
• Monitor activity on all network systems, perpetuating efficient network access by users.
• Troubleshoot all network-related problems and connectivity issues.
• Assist with the design and planning of the network infrastructure and architecture.
• Maintain an inventory of all server hardware and software.
• Ensure that security efforts provide protection from known and unknown threats.
• Researches and advises management of enhancements/new releases of hardware and software technology.
• Work with end users and management to analyze current and future software needs and to suggest appropriate solutions.
• Create documentation on how and when servers are changed or upgraded.

• Fortinet or Cisco Switches/Router/Firewall
• VLAN tagging
