We treat patients of all ages, from fetuses and newborns to children, adolescents, teenagers and adults with cardiac congenital disease. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Responsibilities: Independently perform and provide timely preliminary report of findings on patients including fetuses, premature infants, neonates, children, adolescents and adults referred for evaluation of suspected or known congenital and acquired heart disease. Obtain information required to define complex congenital heart disorders for patients referred for evaluation of non-corrected anatomy and function and/or evaluation of surgical reconstruction or repair, or placement of prosthetic devices using echocardiographic modalities such as: 2D, Doppler, Speckle tracking Technology, 3D, TDI. Provide assistance, guidance and equipment preparation for TEE & ICE echoes during a variety of interventional procedures or surgeries. Assist in preparation of echocardiography materials for case conferences, CQI meetings, research and educational presentations. Assist in training hospital residents, fellows, students and technologists from other institutions as directed. Must be able to independently perform echocardiographic procedures of common congenital heart diseases according to standards set by the Echocardiography Laboratory and obtain accurate data with minimal supervision Responsible for CPT-4 coding procedures and ICD-10 diagnoses for patients under cardiologists guidelines and enter codes into Radiant EPIC in a timely manner. Participates in Echo Lab maintenance rotation as assigned. This is inclusive of, but not limited to, routinely cleaning and checking all echocardiogram equipment before and after use and preparing for next use. Notify appropriate personnel when equipment needs servicing or is damaged. Rotation to offsite hospital or clinics if required by job needs. Coverage for times off Stroger Pediatric Cardiology tech.Other information:Required Job Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of college or 10 years of experience required. RDMS or RDCS certification in both adult and pediatric cardiology. CPR. This individual must have an excellent understanding of physiology and anatomy with some knowledge of pathology as it pertains to the heart. Excellent communication skills when speaking with patients, family members and medical and paramedical personnel.Preferred Job Qualifications: Associate’s degree in cardiac technology or equivalent. Candidate with experience in fetal echocardiography. Candidate with demonstrated pediatric echo experience strongly preferred. Four or more years of experience in echocardiography preferred to enable independent call capacity within two years of employment.
