Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our Women's Health Specialty with coverage in Breast Surgey and Gyne Onc department. The APP will work about 90% Inpatient and 10% Outpatient (Outpatient coverage would involve onboarding training and PTO coverage). The day to day will involve prepping for OR cases and rounding on patients. On non OR days the expectation is to round on inpatients and assist where needed. This position may require the PA to be in Breast and Gyne Onc OR cases on the same day. PTO coverage for our outpatient team will also be required.   Breast surgery includes pre- op /post op on surgical day for APP (discharge teaching), first assist- surgical skills needed, skin closure and assisting, and inpatient and ED consults- can see new consults- initial assessment. Gyne Onc coverage will include rounding on inpatients and first assist-common procedures are hysterectomies, oophorectomies, etc.  Schedule: 5x8s - M-F, daysWeekend call coverage, about every 4th to 5th weekend Locations: Palos Hospital and Orland Park (Surgery Center and Clinics); training for Gyne Onc will require travel to CDH for OR onboarding.The Physician Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.The Physician Assistant performs procedures in accordance with clinical privileges and/or the written collaborative agreement and within the specialty of the supervising physician.
