As a Principal Solution Architect, you will be responsible for interoperability and connections between components of a complex FBIN’s Connected Product solution, collaborating and designing solutions with the various business and technical teams to meet the customer requirements, leveraging existing products and components, as well as new developments or integrations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting into the Digital Factory, you will be accountable for the following activities:Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs.Defines the technical target state of the products and drives achievement of the strategy to deliver the right solution architecture outcomes considering the customer need, potential derivatives, the future state of products, and the FBIN Connected Products strategy.Ensures all functional and non-functional requirements are met for a particular business challenge or opportunity, and all applicable stakeholders justify, communicate, and accept any exceptions.Collaborates with the Engineering community (Firmware, Cloud, Mobile, DevOps, Data Science, and Security) and other stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Data Governance, Product Owners, relevant governance bodies, etc.) to ensure solutions align with business and technology strategy; or seeking and agreeing (minimal) dispensations to highlight technical debt and/or business/operational risk.Facilitates and engages in discovery/elaboration phases to ensure stakeholders understand what is required architecturally to implement a Connected Product solution.Facilitates platform-level technical design by working with our many Agile Pods and cross-functional teams.Breaking down business and customer requirements, aims to identify the teams and Architects involved and collaborate with Cloud, Mobile, and other disciplines to guide the development of comprehensive designs.Communicates the strategic architectural design and supporting information to stakeholders, such as likely costs, timelines, risks, and key dependencies.QUALIFICATIONS:15+ years of experience demonstrating an in-depth understanding of various technologies, including Firmware architecture and design, Cloud Software development practices, Microservices, Data Management and Organization, Software Engineering, IoT Product Development, Mobile Development for native applications, Networking protocols, and Security protocols.Analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions to solve business needs at a portfolio level.Communicate effectively with different stakeholders such as Engineers, management, and business members.Work effectively in a team environment to collaborate with Software Engineers, Designers, Data Science/governance, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.Certifications in specific technologies or Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.Setting up and delivering an IoT platform with products in the market.Able to travel 15-20% to key office locations (mostly Midwest).SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated proficiency in Software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., IoT, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mobile, etc.)Extensive experience with Cloud platforms like Azure or AWS with regards to Microservice development and deployment for IoT Services.Hands-on practical experience delivering System Design, Software Development (Client-Server, Mobile, Cloud-based), Testing, and Operational Stability.Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.Strong background in multiple Software Engineering disciplines with advanced proven delivery in at least one of the following: Mobile Application Development, Cloud Microservice Development, or Firmware Development.Strong and demonstratable background with multiple architectural designs.Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best solutions for future-state architecture.Strong communication and customer-facing skills. Must be experienced in dealing with senior business counterparts and other key stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
