The Psychometrist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.Under general supervision, the Psychometrist provides neuropsychological assessment for pediatric and adult patients. This position requires good judgment in rendering safe, ethical, and effective patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills and an appreciation of a transdisciplinary approach to case management are also required.Responsibilities:Administers and scores paper and pencil and computer based neuropsychological and psychological tests under the direction of a neuropsychologist, psychologist or physician.Test batteries include assessment of learning and memory, intellectual function, attention and concentration, executive functioning, language, visual/spatial abilities, sensorimotor and emotional and personality functioning. These measures may involve up to six hours of assessment with patients in an outpatient or hospital setting.Explains test procedures and is responsible for obtaining accurate and reliable results while engaging the patient, recording behavioral observations and data into an electronic medical record and maintaining a standardized and valid testing environment.Typical patients range from school age children to adults. Populations include children with congenital and acquired diseases including cancer, epilepsy, and concussion.Disorders in adults include brain tumors, movement disorders (e.g. Parkinsons Disease), stroke, and dementia (e.g. Alzheimers Disease).Demonstrates an understanding of computer software (including Microsoft Office and computerized neuropsychological tests) and is responsible for entering patient demographics and raw test data, and navigating the software to process outputs comprising of reports and tables.Participates in program development in their area of expertise.Provides in-service education and staff support, as needed to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.Completes other duties under the direction of the psychometrist manager.
