In this role as a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Quality Manager and will be primarily responsible for overseeing the support of the Quality Management System within the assigned operational area. As a member of the IPV & Quality team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. Responsible for Quality Assurance in assigned areas, including performing audits, improvements of products reliability and customer satisfaction.

Develop plans and tools that are used to implement or support global quality systems or related process i.e. Cost of Poor Quality, quality certifications, BIQ (Built in Quality).

Utilizing of QRQM (Quality Reliability & Quality Metrics) to improve as delivered to our customers.

Work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manner such as daily coaching, tracking CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement), providing quality support to both product group and operation team members.

Implement the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot check, explain the validation reasons, and encourage all employees to make contributions to achieve zero defect in operations.

Be proactive to develop quality related control methodologies and systems such as Cost of Quality control company-wide. Encourage the implementation of the established systems. Analyze and solve problems occurring during implementation.

Actively support 5S/Lean Manufacturing and ongoing support, to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing Practices with Internal Quality Certification system through standardization and documentation.

What you will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business OR 4 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

3+ years of experience and requires a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, Caterpillar internal certification principals, and ISO9000 etc.

Top Candidates will also have:

Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, or in the quality field is desired.

Requires strong communication, cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees.

Requires quality tools knowledge and to be able to teach manufacturing/office employees how to properly apply quality tools or techniques.

Advanced computer applications, good oral and written communications skills are a must.
