Available Openings 1PURPOSE AND SCOPE:Organizes, performs, and records high quality, safe ultrasounds that require ingenuity, initiative and independent judgment, as ordered by physicians. Performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. Ensures optimal care and treatment of patient population.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs procedures by following and verifying the referring providers’ orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.

Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.

Produces high quality images and presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.

Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.

Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.

Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of CVC with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our Performance Standards each day.

Communicates results to physicians and responds to questions and concerns.

Monitors, records and communicates, as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.

Monitors patient’s comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient’s response.

Utilizes knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities.

Orients and mentors new staff members.

Assists with transporting patients.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:High School Diploma

National certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable.

Graduation for an accredited ultrasound program.

RCS or CCI or equivalent for echo sonography required within 12 months of hire, if applicable.

BLS certification required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :2 years of sonography or related experience preferred

Effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.

Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 75lbs.

Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.

Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision. Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
