The Clinical Schools and Program Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.Under the direction of the Department Manager (department specific) and the Program Manager/Director of the relevant school, the Clinical Schools and Programs Coordinator has the responsibility and accountability for overseeing the clinical education aspects of the program and coordinating clinical activities ensuring students are able to achieve competency. This position facilitates the operational activities related to quality patient care and overall program function.In addition to performing all of the duties of a technologist within the relevant department, the Clinical Schools and Programs Coordinator assumes a lead role in daily operations of the school, including classroom instruction, student evaluation and record maintenance, and takes on responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.This is a highly visible position that includes daily contact with the interdisciplinary team. It requires a mature, self-motivated individual who needs minimal supervision. Excellent time management skills will be used daily to meet critical deadlines. Excellent communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills are required to enable this incumbent to collaborate with all levels of NM and NM Academy personnel.Responsibilities:Assists in the coordination of orientation programs for studentsTrains technical staff on student instruction, supervision, evaluation and program policies and proceduresDevelops and facilitates training program to orient Clinical Instructors as neededProvides technical assessment of job performance of Clinical Instructors serving in this roleMonitors and tracks student survey data on Clinical Instructor performance and clinical rotation area assignmentsEnsures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards, where applicableParticipates in department staff meetings, provides program updates, and solicits feedback on student performance and progressCollaborates with clinical staff and physicians on student performance and determines corrective action as neededProvides or facilitates student guidance and academic counseling as appropriateAssists in the development and revision of program policies and procedures in relation to clinical training aspects of the programWorks with clinical staff to ensure adequate levels of student supervision are maintained and makes adjustments to clinical assignments as necessaryDevelops quarterly clinical rotation schedules ensuring equitable learning opportunities are providedRegularly visits clinical rotation areas and documents issues/concerns in a timely mannerCoordinates and teaches select didactic and laboratory courses as assignedParticipates in program informational session and student recruitment activitiesParticipates in the annual student selection process for program admissionMeets with Program Manager/Director on a regular basisAssumes role of Program Manager/Director when necessaryAssists with data collection and analysis with regard to programmatic assessment and accreditation activitiesWorks with Program Manager/Director on annual policy revision and the creation of new policies and procedures as necessaryMaintains student clinical files and attendance documents according to accreditation requirements, ensure accuracy of student recordsAssists with site visit coordination and other accreditation activities, and attends all relevant meetingsParticipates in program quality and process improvement activities within the program and as related to student education within the departmentSupports the NM mission by exhibiting superior customer service skills to achieve the best patient experience for every patient receiving services through the program
