Position Summary:

In this vital role, you will provide assistance to and ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff. You will also play a crucial role in protecting the property of Youngminds and performing various other essential functions as assigned. Essential Functions:
Displays professionalism in fulfilling job responsibilities Maintains an excellent appearance and follows department dress code. Stays attentive to post duties and job responsibilities. Represents department well when interacting with others. Displays self as dependable in reporting for work, reporting on time, and does not abuse mealtime or break time. Conducts is a credit to the department and does not abuse authority or use position for personal gain. Shows self-initiative in performing all tasks and duties. Follows up and carries through on all work assignments. Performs assigned tasks accurately.
Accepts the role of providing personal service tasks Provides direct service or help make other arrangements. Understands and accepts the role of providing support services. Provides alert, helpful efficient responses to phone callers. Uses good documentation skills for report writing and record keeping. Performs specific security tasks as directed such as money transports, escorts, hazard inspection, etc. Patrols Medical Center buildings and property. Maintains order by enforcing all hospital & department policies. Responds to and handles all dispatched calls. Adheres to all department and Medical Center policies & procedures.
Uses problem-solving skills to make proper decisions. Gathers all pertinent information to make decisions. Uses common sense/good judgment and is resourceful in solving problems. Takes initiative in making decisions and taking action. Maintains calm approach in stressful situations. Maintains knowledge of Security Department operations. Utilizes CPI methods as team member to control aggressive or violent patients and visitors.
Effectively monitors Security and fire alarm. Responds to stats, disasters and codes following policies and procedures. Monitors and responds to access controls, panic alarms, fire computer and alarms, intercoms and CCTV monitors. Acknowledges incoming Security calls or alarms and dispatches Security officers to the appropriate locations. Maintains and enhances their knowledge and capabilities during emergency and non-emergency situations, performing multiple duties rapidly, calmly, and effectively to achieve the responses needed. Keeps abreast on all call disasters and security policies. Contacts appropriate personnel for all codes, disasters and stats.
