As a Senior Product Owner, you will be on one of several talented scrum teams in a large, accelerated project to rapidly solution Medical Management service systems for our OptumCare partners.

This crucial role is responsible for owning the backlog of features and stories, liaising with IT as a daily scrum team member, liaising with product managers to understand and champion the objectives, and ensuring that the features are built right to meet the acceptance criteria.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with product and UX teams to understand the customers' needs and requirements
  • Interpret and document those needs and requirements into Features for your development team
  • Break features into documented user stories for your development team
  • Define acceptance criteria for user stories
  • Work with testers to ensure test scenarios prove business objectives
  • Represent those features and stories during PI Planning and PMC
  • Refine the development team's backlog per the business priorities
  • Review and accept user stories throughout the sprint as they are completed, before the sprint demo
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coach and provide feedback and guidance to others
  • Participate in continuous improvement through Team Retrospectives
  • Act as a resource for the product needs
  • Execute and lead requirements gathering sessions with business unit and development teams
  • Address questions, attend meetings and perform as the subject matter expert on assigned Features
  • Participate in development inquiries and testing based on requirements for assigned project
  • Swarm in various scrum team roles, such as testing, to ensure sprint goals are met
  • Address issues presented by the business and troubleshoot systems for resolution
  • Participate in implementation meetings, address status of the project as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience as an Agile leader, possessing a high level of analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • 4+ years of experience in BA, SA, and/or PO roles
  • 3+ years of experience in analytical or managing large scale projects
  • Experience in a business or client services model
  • Experience with business rule engines and writing rules
  • Proven ability to create documents including requirements, testing plans, proposals, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
