Join us.Job Summary:This is an opportunity to join the Manufacturing Technology & Solutions (MT&S) as a Senior Research Engineer focused on designing, developing, and deploying machining & metrology solutions across the Caterpillar manufacturing landscape. You will become a member of the MT&S Machining Technologies team focused on machining & metrology process development and troubleshooting. This position includes but is not limited to the support of machining assets and all their associated fixturing and tooling.What You Will Do:

Develop machining processes and troubleshoot current machining issues across the enterprise.

Partner with manufacturing facilities to improve productivity and optimize machining & metrology processes.

Act as a subject matter expert in the machining space for others to call on for support.

Identify, evaluate, develop, and validate new machining and/or metrology technology.

Validate new manufacturing engineering tools to support machining planning, metrology methods, execution, and process control.

Education Requirement:

Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology curriculum.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:

Discusses the relevance of standards for a manufacturing environment.

Research process and product blueprints for own area.

Describes and follows all policies, standards, and procedures.

Obtains documentation and information on standards and their usage.
