The OpportunityOur Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Senior Scientist Operations II for our location in Abbott Park (Waukegan), IL. T his position is physically located onsite 5 days a week. The primary function of this position is to lead and/or consult on multiple projects including investigations, design changes, and product improvements for on-market immunoassays. Lead cross functional teams with the required product and process knowledge to assess impact, develop a plan, and oversee activities to completion. Resolve on-market technical issues to maintain product availability.What You’ll Work On

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Develop and apply product and process knowledge to the on-market technical support of immunoassays. Use sound judgment, appropriate scientific methods, and thorough data analysis. Make timely decisions, and accurately document work.

Design experiments, summarize data, interpret results, draw conclusions, and recommend next steps.

Demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills.

Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Prepare and present written and oral reports and presentations to internal and external audiences.

Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage or contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively prioritize work to meet established milestones.

Anticipate, identify, and resolve internal and external customer issues through application of technical knowledge and experience and understanding of products and processes.

Achieve individual and team performance goals. Support key projects and initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGMinimun Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in biological or physical sciences, or mathematics with 7 plus years of progressively responsible positions in a research development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.

Doctorate Degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.

Experience with change control and/or investigation processes and/or laboratory skills.

Experience with acquiring, analyzing and interpreting data from a variety of sources.

Experience with technical problem prevention and resolution.

Experience with leading project teams and/or mentoring / teaching others.

Knowledge of experimental design and/or statistical tools and/or project management tools.

Understanding change control impact on design / validation of products and/or processes.

Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in timely resolution of product / process technical issues.

Experience with application of six sigma tools for root cause identification.
