JOB SUMMARY Our products are intelligent embedded software devices including microprocessor-based capacitor, switch, and fault interrupting controls; as well as patented peer-to-peer feeder restoration systems and large-scale energy storage management systems. We are seeking a contracted Senior Software Test Engineer to join the Product Experience Validation team at S&C Electric Company. The main responsibility of the contractor is to ensure S&C product experience exceeds customers' expectation by identifying and demonstrating product experience issues and facilitating their resolution. Product experience validation is similar to software QA but focuses on high-level and generic customers' workflow and metric. Besides working on product experience tasks, the contractor also has responsibilities in general software QA testing and automation support, so experience in those area are also required. In this position, you will report to the Product Experience Validation manager located in Chicago, IL. This position is in Chicago, IL with remote eligibility. The work associated with this position includes, but is not limited to, the following: - Create and execute product experience and functional test cases
- Automate test cases in existing S&C framework
- Knowledge of python scripting
- Knowledge of Electrical Power concepts is big plus.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following: BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines; with hardware/software knowledge - 1 plus years of product experience testing
- 5 plus years of software testing experience
- 2 or more years of Python experience
- 2 or more years of experience managing projects, working in large matrixed organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication sills to deliver user research findings with cross functional partners
- Up to 5% travel per year
