Job Description:Job Summary Responsible to deliver technical finished product solutions for the Owned Brand business by leading technical product and packaging development activities. Leads the technical direction for new product development and maintenance projects to maximize delivery of innovation, efficiency, quality, and sustainability parameters that meet the brand requirements. Collaborates with cross-functional partners, subject matter experts, and product suppliers to meet business needs for Walgreens Owned brands. Focus categories include Grocery, Household, & Wellness products.Job Responsibilities
Serves as technical product expert for owned brand products in the America’s. Develops an expert knowledge of performance criteria and regulatory needs for various categories within owned brands.
Lead projects to define technical expectations, deliver robust product development guardrails, and effective specifications.
Responsible for monitoring industry developments and technologies to design cost-effective high-quality products. Communicates information to key stakeholders in meaningful ways.
Develops a strong knowledge of the concepts and procedures within project life-cycle management including design, specification development, label creation, and commercialization
Defines product quality, safety and technical standards across the owned brand product portfolio
Collaborates with technical subject matter experts and cross-functional teams located globally including UK and Asia offices. Collaborates with strategic external partners including vendors and labs.
Lead cross-functional product evaluation and communication of results.
Trouble shoots product integrity issues and facilitates solutions.
Maintains a strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the design and sale of products within different jurisdictions. Ensures that product design meets all applicable rules and statutory regulations.

Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field (ie Chemistry, Biology, Foods Science, Engineering) and at least 3 years of experience in product design and development, product integrity/quality, or manufacturing OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 years of experience in product design and development, product integrity/quality, or manufacturing.
Experience working in consumer goods categories such as grocery, food, OTC healthcare or beauty/personal care industries.
Experience working on cross functional teams. Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical communities.
Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge).
Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in product testing requirements for consumer goods categories Experience working in grocery/food, household, and/or dietary supplement industries. Experience leading product & package evaluations (ie performance testing) and product testing. Able to provide technical recommendations. Experience working with suppliers and third party technical resources to define and qualify technical product attributes Proven experience interpreting marketing briefs into technical criteria and communicating across different levels of technical knowledge within a cross-functional team environment. Experience with specification management systems and packaging development software. Knowledge of import regulations and safety testing requirements and regulations.
