  • The Company - Headquartered in DOWNTOWN Chicago, our client is an institutional fixed income broker/dealer and investment advisory firm, specializing in highly analytical, performance driven strategies.
My client is seeking a Security Specialist to join our technology team. This individual will ensure the secure operation of the end user computer systems.

The Service Desk Security Specialist will analyze and resolve security incidents and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required. In addition, this role will serve as a resource to the general service desk. He or she will prioritize, document and actively resolve service desk requests, escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain SLA expectations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree ( not a must have ) , preferably in a quantitative, technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience in areas of service desk support and leadership
  • 4+ years of service desk support
  • Strong understanding of IP, TCP / IP and other network administration protocols
  • Experience with security tools, scripting and automating software deployments and patch updates - their current tools are SCCM, Tenable, SIEM / AlienVault, AV / CarbonBlack )
  • Experience and knowledge in service desk ticketing systems, PC life cycle support, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Operating systems, asset management, hardware and software support
  • Familiar with networking technologies, server support, active directory, and Microsoft Exchange
  • Structured problem solving skills; experience using systematic and fact-based processes to determine root cause and improve operations and support for mission critical services
  • Experience working within governing controls such as Change Management, Incident Management and Continuity Management
