We currently have a great opportunity for a Database Administration Manager. The Manager, Database Administration is responsible for the overall strategic planning and development of database systems for SAI. This includes oversight of performance, integrity and security across all organizational databases included in application development and infrastructural initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify, define, and assess the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system to meet current and future needs of the organization.

Define the logical database structure for new and existing application development. Design procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.

Develop and implement policies and procedures related to data governance including data security, coding and naming standards, and data integrity. Develop, implement, and monitor access policies, limiting database access on a need-related basis.

Assesses current and projected database performance on a regular basis. Recommend changes and enhancements to optimize database strategy and performance.

Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in DBMS and related technology.

Resolve data conflicts for matters such as naming conventions, data privacy, and data ownership.

In all development work, follow the applicable Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, Sysmex Product Design and Development Process (PDDP), and Architecture Review Board (ARB) standards and procedures. Ensure project and department milestones and goals are met on time.

Oversee and mentor database development resources within IT/IS team. Work and manage offshore database resources as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or 10 years required experience in Database Administration.

In-depth knowledge of database technologies.

Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.

Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.

Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.

Development experience with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and PowerBI.

Thorough understanding of file structures and design, information retrieval techniques, file access methods, and database controls and standards.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
