- Manipulate and analyze data from Ulta Beauty's big data environment, including customer profile info, transactions, supply chain data, and product characteristics using tools such as SQL, Python, R, and SAS
- Work with internal partners to assess business needs and transform them into meaningful observations by selecting optimal analytic technique(s) such as clustering and segmentation techniques, regression, and propensity modeling depending on the nature of the business problem
- Design and develop advanced analytical models to optimize communication and operational tactics, while generating overall efficiencies across Ulta Beauty
- Distill analyses results into clear, concise, and business friendly presentations and/or dashboards and deliver those to various levels of audiences including C-suite executives
- Develop a strong partnership and collaboration with various internal teams at Ulta Beauty, such as CRM & Loyalty, eCommerce, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, etc. by performing as a key partner who consults on how to attain business goals through analytics
- Advise key business teams on the optimal approach for proving out hypotheses by leveraging test and learn methodologies
- Ensure data integrity by leveraging proven methodologies, including data reconciliation, data integration and data audits
- Take full end to end ownership of small to medium complexity analytical projects
- Continue driving a data driven culture across Ulta Beauty and mentor less experienced team members on advanced analytical techniques
- 4+ years of professional experience in analytical functions developing business strategies from quantitative analyses and presenting results to business partners
- Advanced degree preferred in a highly quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.
- Proven command of programming (Python or SAS preferred), SQL, relational databases, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and MS Excel/PowerPoint
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to communicate complex ideas to various audiences in both a technical and user-friendly language
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently by handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately, and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Energetic and self-motivated with a strong sense of curiosity - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations

- Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented team
- Experience in retailer and e-commerce industries
- Ability to manage larger, more complex projects from start to completion with minimal assistance
- Fluency in Python and scientific related frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, numpy, scipy etc.)
- Outstanding data visualization skills
- Hands-on experience with designing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning pipelines
