Our client, a group of companies, is seeking a Sr. Business Systems Manager (SAP IBP and ECC)

Job Summary:

Looking for a Senior Business Systems Manager responsible for all aspects of the design, implementation, deployment, and support of application solutions and for driving transformational projects within Supply Chain Planning and Source to Pay business processes. This role will have supervisory responsibility for a team of Business System Analysts and requires skills in business process improvement, business management, and project management; and deep functional/technical expertise within the SAP ECC, IBP, Cloud Integration, and Ariba environments including solution architecture skills.

This role will be remote to start with the intention of transition to a hybrid environment of 2-3 days a week onsite at our corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, IL (20 miles west of Chicago) in early 2022.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technical and functional resources focused on implementation and support of application functionality within Planning, Sourcing, Purchasing, and Materials Management, including: Demand & Supply Planning, S&OP Processes, Forecasting, Replenishment, Production Planning, Direct & Indirect purchasing, Supplier Management, and Order Allocation
  • Interface with multiple departments, Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing, Purchasing, Materials, and Finance in multiple locations including Corporate Headquarters in Oak Brook, IL; Manufacturing in Nogales, MX; Service & Distribution Centers in Tucson, AZ and others across North America.
  • Interface directly with business leadership, lead large and complex programs, and help drive transformation of the company by leading the organizational change associated with adoption of industry-leading technology and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders; a deep understanding of business processes and industry best practices in Supply Chain Planning and Procurement;
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams across SAP Modules such as ECC (MM, PP/DS), Cloud tools such as IBP and Ariba and other applications to define, design, and architect solutions that meet business needs, follow industry best practices, leverage standard application functionality, and adhere to application design guidelines, strategies, and best practices
  • Configure, develop, test and deploy solutions to meet business requirements
  • Create deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation
  • Collaborate with business partners throughout the development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver the desired benefits
  • Support business partners with solution deployment including cutover planning, end user training, change management, and communications
  • Manage resources, schedules, and assignments to production support and projects. Collaborate with other teams to create cross-team resource and program plans; be accountable for the team's delivery on time and on budget; serve as a mentor to Analysts and Developers; manage team member performance, growth and development
  • Manage relationships with key business stakeholders. Understand their business processes, needs, and priorities. Organize and facilitate the business prioritization process across multiple business stakeholders. Build a reputation as a trusted partner who collaborates to drive business process improvement and delivers high quality systems solutions
  • Support production systems; work to analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner. Resolve end user service requests
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts with software and services providers.
  • Serve as Project/Program Manager on key projects and programs that drive business transformation, adoption of industry best practices, and continuous improvement. Contribute to business case development including identification and quantification of benefits. Lead project planning and scoping activities. Apply project management standards and concepts; prepare work estimates and work schedules; manage project plans; manage project resources and budgets; manage issues and risks; create and deliver project status communications to stakeholders including senior management. Ensure projects deliver the targeted business benefits

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent
  • 10+ years' experience in Information Technology, preferably applications development or configuration.
  • 8+ years hands-on experience with SAP ECC, IBP, and CVI including hands-on configuration
  • At least one full lifecycle implementation of SAP ECC and IBP including Blueprint phase
  • +8 years working with business processes related to Supply Chain Planning such as Sales & Operations Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Capacity Planning, Manufacturing Scheduling, and Inventory Optimization
  • Prior experience in a direct or indirect management capacity
  • Experience with business processes related to planning such as; S&OP, Statistical Forecast, Consensus Demand, Rough-Cut Planning, Capacity Planning & Scheduling
  • Experience with processes from purchasing though payment in SAP environments
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba Suite including Sourcing, Contract, SLP, Buying and Invoicing or other SAP Cloud based Supply Chain tools.
  • Experience with SAP SNC a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience required as a project manager delivering large, strategic projects.
  • 3+ years' experience direct functional management of analyst-level resources

  • Outstanding skills in systems analysis, problem analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and technical error resolution across multiple technologies. Identifies resource requirements, organizes and leads teams to resolve problems rapidly; identifies business impact and proactively communicates to business stakeholders on critical issues.
  • Expert knowledge of SDLC; accountable for resources adhering to process; able to manage a complex solution from design through development, testing, and deployment including change management, communications and training; drives process improvements year over year to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the SDLC.
  • Recognized "go-to" resource by business stakeholders to help analyze and solve business problems; considered an indispensable partner by business stakeholders; lead business requirements analysis, develop a point of view, and recommend solutions based on experience and industry best practices.
  • Expertise in data analysis; strong knowledge of business reporting needs and KPIs and ability to translate those needs into reporting solutions; strong knowledge of application data models, able to analyze data to answer business questions and present results to business stakeholders up to senior management.
  • Business Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders from end users to Directors; proactively manage stakeholder expectations; sought out as a trusted advisor; maintain strong working relationships with key internal customers.
  • Project Management: Able to create work breakdown structure and project plans for medium sized, complex, cross-functional projects; able to identify resource requirements and create resource plans; able to effectively manage project execution, manage issues and risks, and drive successful completion on-time/on-budget.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communications; concise and direct; can communicate effectively to all levels; can speak in business language, articulate a point of view and drive to a business decision.
  • Self-driven, team oriented, fast learning, organized, disciplined, professional, goal oriented individual with positive attitude.
  • People Management: Able to build and organize a team, define shared goals, define, and execute development plans, and manage the full recruit-to-retire for direct reports.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Masters preferred
  • APICS CPIM Certification a plus
  • Experience with companies who sell through "big box" retail channels
  • Experience in global environments
  • Experience with manufacturing planning and shop floor scheduling
  • Experience with Forecast, Planning, and S&OP Processes
  • Experience with SAP Cloud Platform Integration or equivalent
