Role: Senior Java Backend DeveloperDuration: 12 MonthsLocation: Chicago, IL (onsite)Experience: 10+ years of Experience Top Skills: AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, Dynamo DB, RDS Job notes:As a Software Engineer you will contribute to design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and/or applications. Open for 100% remote; someone who can work with the CST time zone and when needed, may be once or twice come for any critical meetings in Chicago. Well versed in Python; good no. of years in Object Oriented Programming (not interested in profiles with 5 yrs in data science or analytics role or scripting which is what we commonly get when we ask for Python developers; no Front-end developers);Looking for Data/ Backend engineers with database experience; preference for cloud based exp (AWS is preferred; others fine too); 1 yr. with NoSQL database (DynamoDB) as well as RDS; 1 yr. with streaming technologies with Kafka or Kinesis (desired), exp with messaging (knowledge of concepts is also fine)Responsibilities:• Experience in designing and developing software applications in Python.• Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Go CD, Azure Devops etc.• Experience with AWS components such as Lambda, Glue, and RDS.• Experience with object-oriented programming (ie Java - needs to fully understand OOP concepts)• Proven experience in some of the following, o Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.• Developing software applications using relational and NoSQL databases.• Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.• Deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.• Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).• Experience in Batch or stream processing systems such as Apache Spark, Flink, Akka, Storm• Message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache ActiveMQ, Kinesis.• Test driven development and behavior driven development.• Hands on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.• Datastores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Oracle.• Must demonstrate solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms
