Aon is looking for a Sr Manager Disaster Recovery

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Disaster Recovery. As a Disaster Recovery leader, you will report directly to the Senior Director for the Aon Platform Services team.

Your impact as a SR Manager Disaster Recovery for Aon Crucial Functions:
  • Directs and leads all aspects of all organization-wide disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures that ensures the security and integrity of Aon data, databases, information systems, and technology
  • Develops disaster recovery and resumption plans for the critical processes and systems that are core to Aon's continued business operations in the event of a disruption
  • Defines, tests and matures the Disaster Recovery capabilities of Aon in the NA, EMEA and APAC regions
  • Leads a distributed team of skilled professionals to ensure platform recovery strategies support DR readiness requirements. Prioritize review of DR recovery plan documentation to ensure alignment to the Aon DR framework
  • Lead all aspects of activities to ensure all Disaster Recovery procedures and plans are tested, detailed and supervised and provide rapid response and recovery to system events
  • Coordinates end to end planning and execution of platform DR plan by coordinating efforts with various technology SME's while adhering to the approved RACI
  • Leads all aspects of DR tests/exercises to identify gaps and ensure continuous improvement
  • Directs and leads all aspects of risk analysis for all Platform services to resolve vulnerable points in the system and establish strategies for risk mitigation
  • Participate in Design meetings to ensure new designs/changes confirm to Aon DR framework and in Change Management meetings to review upcoming changes that impact DR
  • Participate in Incident Management meetings to review incidents that impact DR and host weekly meetings with Platform service owners to review issues, changes and risks
  • Responsible for coordinated plan and ensure robust TRP and plans
  • Planning and coordination of the exercise

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Required Experience:
  • Industry recognized certification in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in disaster recovery/business continuity/crisis management
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology - Knowledge of Backups and Storage, Unix/Windows, VMware technologies
  • Project management experience and Some Enterprise Architect experience
  • 10+ years of experience facilitating group discussions, training/awareness meetings and exercise scenarios
  • 10+ years of experience developing multi-functional/peer relationships. Experience building team consensus
  • Experience managing programs in a diverse geography and Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekend work

Preferred Experience:
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with mid- management (written and oral, presentation and interpersonal skills)
  • Some understanding of crisis operations and effective communication processes
  • General understanding of disaster recovery plan development and testing standard methodologies and processes
  • Strong information technology (IT) knowledge and design principles. Ability to work with IT on analysis and solutions
  • Understanding of industry best practices and standards
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks to meet project/global program requirements!

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or alternatively commensurate work experience
  • Desired ITIL foundation certificate
  • CBCP or equivalent certification preferred
