Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Northfield, Illinois. The role involves maintaining and verifying financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, and performing complex accounting tasks. Responsibilities Accurately reconcile all balance sheet and select Income and Expense Accounts. Prepare year-end corporate tax work papers. Compile commercial insurance renewals and gather payroll data for 401(k) plan testing. Perform bank reconciliations. Compute commissions in accordance with a complex set of criteria. Work with payroll for accruals and time-off benefits. Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, and QuickBooks for financial management. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience with Bank Reconciliations Ability to maintain and manage the General Ledger Knowledge of Journal Entries preparation and posting Familiarity with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting tasks Experience with Oracle accounting software Knowledge and experience in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks Experience with SAP for financial management and accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and dependability Attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Willingness to continuously improve and update skills and knowledge Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands.
