Strategic Sourcing Analyst

Represents Purchasing in weekly production meetings, contacts suppliers on any changes to drawings (forward current revisions) as needed.Works with Production in preparing Return to Vendor documents on any parts rejected.Member of inventory team and is responsible for monthly tracking of A&B as well as C item purchases, continuously reviews Kanban levels with Production and Sourcing Manager and makes appropriate adjustments.Prepare reports as needed. Monthly verify purchases made on Purchasing CardMaintains supplier performanceHas corrective action discussionsCompiles and sends out RFQ packagesDoes a quote comparisonIdentifies proper placement of orderBased on delivery, quality, and priceProfessionally and tactfully explains policies and procedures to individuals seeking to procure materials, services, and/or supplies; helps ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures; ensures that risks related to services and supplies are identified and controlled by methods such as obtaining Material Safety Data Sheets, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements, and by attending required staff trainingMaintains contact with vendors; updates list of vendors for bidding purposes; attends product demonstrations and obtains samples and literature regarding potential products and vendor capabilities and confers with end usersResearches, secures, compares, and evaluates information regarding source of supply, price, quality, availability, terms and conditions, and related information for varied materials, supplies, services, and equipmentPlace orders for capital, ensuring all required approvals are in placePlace orders for contracted servicesEnsuring insurance documentation is on fileMaintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.All duties expected of a Buyer I and other duties as assigned.
