Join us.Job Summary:The Strategic Procurement & Planning Division (SPPD) is an end-to-end, synchronized organization, developing and deploying tools necessary to achieve operational excellence. With a mission to connect the physical and digital worlds of Caterpillar’s supply ecosystem to maximize our competitive advantage, SPPD is transforming the way Caterpillar does business. Within SPPD, the Procurement Analytics department supports the enterprise with expertise as a Cost Center of Excellence and through Advanced Analytics.The Procurement Analytics Strategy Manager will drive execution of the department's ongoing projects and work with the Director of Procurement Analytics to set the strategic direction of the department.What You Will Do: Project Management: Develop metrics / dashboards / supporting management tools to plan and drive execution of key initiatives critical to the department and enterprise. Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the performance of strategic initiatives; develop KPIs and metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement. Communication: Support, facilitate, and lead effective communication with business partners and key stakeholders; lead cross-functional collaboration with business partners to collect voice of the customer and propose ideas for the department to undertake; effectively communicate the value of the department’s initiatives to the enterprise. Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve department goals and objectives and position the department for long-term success.Education Requirement:Bachelor’s degreeWhat Skills You Will Have:Customer Focus: Driven to understand and verify the values / needs / expectations of our business partners though effective communication and feedback. Communicates the importance of business partner needs / expectations and commits to resolving them through a well-developed plan. Solicits business partner satisfaction feedback and acts on improvement opportunities. Helps link department objectives to business partner needs and expectations. Meets regularly with business partners to understand their wants, needs and expectations.Data Gathering & Analysis: Synthesizes data from a variety of sources in an objective manner to tell a compelling story and reach a consensus, goal, or judgment. Advises others how to improve the validity and reliability of data used in various analyses. Evaluates best practices of data gathering and analysis within the industry.Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process. Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact.Effective Communications: Ability to effectively receive, accurately interpret, and effectively share ideas, information, and needs downward, upward, and outward. Uses data to tell a compelling story to reach a desired outcome. Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience. Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement. Maintains focus on the topic at hand.Relationship Management: Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with teammates, business partners, and stakeholders. Communicates to teammates and business partners regarding expectations of all parties. Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop strategic plans to maintain focus on key success factors for the department to maintain long-term success. Builds the strategic thinking capability of the group. Interprets available data and analyses when creating business plans. Recommends ways to position the organization for long-term competitiveness.Value Selling: Communicates the value of Procurement Analytics’ initiatives and tools to the enterprise in a compelling manner Incorporates clearly understood business partner needs into messaging selling the value of the department’s work. Discusses issues and considerations regarding current practices and recommends potential improvements.Additional InformationThe location for this position is Mossville, IL.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
