job detailsjob summary:A System Integration Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This role as a System Integration Engineer focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing electric powertrain systems for heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with emissions standards and collaborating closely with technical leads and internal partners.location: Mossville, Illinoisjob type: Contractsalary: $48.47 - 67.86 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:
Develop concepts for electrified powertrain systems.
Identify and leverage design and development opportunities.
Use simulation to optimize systems.
Conduct trade-off analysis using metrics such as performance, total cost of ownership (TCO), and R&D investment.
Complete system design activities alongside component design owners.
Support development builds and validation processes.
Troubleshoot electric powertrain systems, addressing electrical and mechanical challenges.
Skills:
Proficiency in interpreting and developing electrical system schematics.
Ability to create detailed electrical schematics per industry and company standards.
Application of electrical theory to powertrain design.
Familiarity with design and simulation tools.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 10+ years in product (machine, system, or component) development or
8+ years with a Master's or
PhD in Engineering.
