Description: Client is seeking a Systems Security Administrator to join our technology team. This individual will ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. This person will analyse and resolve security incidents and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct system activity audits where required. This person will have a secondary responsibility to prioritize, document and actively resolve Infrastructure requests and escalate incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain SLA expectations. The Systems Security Administrator will develop and implement enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration based on industry-standard best practices. In addition, this individual will:
  • Assess need for any security reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required
  • Keep current with emerging security alerts and issues
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain all server, storage, backup, and network security software
  • Recommend, schedule, and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach
  • Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security
  • Collaborates with Cyber Security team to ensure that security, administration, and support is appropriate and prioritized
  • Ensures excellent customer service is always provided
  • Participates in day-to-day activities as well as project work for the IT infrastructure team
  • Responsible for the design, deployment, life-cycle maintenance, inventory, monitoring, and support of all IT infrastructure systems including but not limited to servers, storage devices, and network equipment
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Ensures timely response to all infrastructure tickets, phone calls, and system-generated alerts, during and after hours
  • Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders
  • Assists in training and development of Infrastructure team staff
  • Executes service continuity, disaster recovery, fail-over and data recovery exercises for all assets within scope
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, and contractors to secure system-related products and services
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative, technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience in areas of system/network administration and Infrastructure
  • 5+ years of system and network administration experience
  • 2+ years of experience administering SCCM
  • Experience with PowerShell scripts and automation
  • Experience and knowledge in areas of virtualization, networking, system administration, disaster recovery, and Microsoft products including Exchange, Server, workstation OS, and SCOM
  • Proven track record of delivering superior service and equivalent experience simultaneously participating in/leading multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Consistently demonstrates clear communication, strong organization/time management and selflessness within current role
  • Compulsively organized and driven to bring order and direction to fluid environments
  • Structured problem-solving skills: significant experience using systematic and fact-based processes to determine root cause and improve operations and support for mission critical services
  • Oriented toward optimization and efficiency in process
  • Experience working within governing controls such as Change Management, Incident Management and Continuity Management
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing a culture of positive collaboration among cross-functional teams comprised of diverse personalities, skill sets and levels of experience
