As a Tax Manager – Transfer Pricing on the Global Transfer Pricing Team, you will be responsible for conducting transfer pricing analyses to ensure compliance with the arm’s length principle and local regulations.This position is part of a dynamic global team focused on Transfer Pricing Operations, with a global perspective. Our team strives to embrace change, aiming at developing and implementing global processes that allow us to execute and deliver standardized, efficient, and automated intercompany processes to drive Operational Excellence in alignment with Caterpillar’s Global Finance Strategy.What You Will Do:

Detailed Analyses : Performing detailed analyses of intercompany transactions, utilizing technical expertise to understand data complexity and applying it for transfer pricing and control purposes, including SOX control processes

Data Management: Collecting and standardizing financial data from multiple systems and countries to support transfer pricing analyses and present intercompany data insights, such as business performance and areas of opportunity, to stakeholders

Performance Monitoring: Utilizing dashboards, data analytics, and trend analysis to monitor legal entity performance and determine necessary actions

Price Setting: Determining appropriate transfer prices for goods and services transactions between legal entities within the Enterprise and making proactive changes to align reported results with transfer pricing policies and regulatory requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with various teams such as finance, customs, indirect tax, direct tax, and legal to ensure alignment and consistent application of transfer pricing policies

Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhancing efficiency and consistency in transfer pricing operations

Dashboard Maintenance: Supporting the maintenance and upgrade of existing dashboards to cater to new requirements, creating new dashboards with meaningful metrics for scalability and effectiveness of intercompany data analyses, and training stakeholders to be proficient in using the dashboards

Data Analytics: Leveraging intercompany data analytics for reporting, controversy, advisory and valuation work as well as to improve operational performance

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating cross-functionally with various stakeholders across the Enterprise to understand challenges and identify opportunities for simplifying processes, improving data, and leveraging digital capabilities in collaboration with our intercompany data scientist

What You Have:

Education/Experience: Recognized Degree or Postgraduate/Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 5+ years of income tax related experience.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail :

Application : Performing detailed analyses of intercompany transactions and ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies and regulatory requirements. This involves processing large quantities of financial data with high accuracy and implementing cross-checking mechanisms to maintain data integrity.

Effective Communications :

Application : Collaborating cross-functionally with various teams (finance, customs, indirect tax, direct tax, and legal) and presenting intercompany data insights to stakeholders. Effective communication is crucial for adapting presentations for different audiences and ensuring alignment on transfer pricing policies.

Problem Solving :

Application : Identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhancing efficiency in transfer pricing operations. This involves analyzing data, developing alternative resolution strategies, and contributing to standard practices for problem-solving approaches.

Financial and Accounting Systems :

Application : Collecting and standardizing financial data from multiple systems and countries to support transfer pricing analyses. This includes managing key interfaces with other application systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Tax Operations :

Application : Advising on federal and local transfer pricing regulations/guidelines and facilitating the resolution of outstanding tax issues. This skill is essential for evaluating the impact of pending legislation on tax reporting and operations.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

3-5 years of work experience in Transfer Pricing.

Familiarity with customs and indirect tax regulations.

Understanding of accounting and business processes.

Proficiency in using PowerBI to manage and visualize data.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage and/or mentor direct/indirect reports with a focus on coaching and development

Project management capabilities

This position can be located in Peoria, IL or Irving, TX

Travel Expectation: 5-10%
