Description:

The Senior UX Researcher uses qualitative and quantitative research to help teams understand the needs, behaviors, expectations, and motivations of users. You will influence the design of digital products, software applications, and end-to-end experiences. You will collaborate with design, product, marketing, leadership, and more, working within fast-paced lean or agile environments to help teammates make decisions based on data and user insights.Key Responsibilities:• Work closely with UX, product, and business partners to define and prioritize research problems and questions, identify research methods, and develop research plans and timelines• Design and execute studies within budget, timeline, and project requirements, using the appropriate methodologies (e.g., in-depth interviews, contextual inquiries, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, surveys, etc.) for the questions being addressed• Generate insights and report findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to drive tactical and strategic product decisions• Act as a mentor and thought partner to other UX Researchers, leveraging your experience and expertise to help your teammates grow and develop• Practice a lean research mindset and strong partnership with cross-functional team members, making research effective and impactful within rapid product development processes• Be an advocate for our users, and help others do the same by bringing them into the research process• Continuously learn new skills and capabilities by monitoring consumer trends, attending workshops, mentoring others (or being mentored) in UX research and design methodologiesPreferred Qualifications:Education and Experience• 5 or more years of relevant experience within a research function required• Demonstrated experience practicing a variety of UX research methods, including in-depth interviews, contextual inquiry, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, surveys• Corresponding experience delivering insights and recommendations to a variety of audiences• Bachelor’s degree or higher in the following is a plus: Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Cognitive Science, Information Science, or related fieldFunctional Skills• Proficient in planning and executing a variety of UX research methods• Organized and able to manage personal, team and project timetables• Able to pull together qualitative and quantitative data, from primary and secondary research, to tell compelling stories and drive insight-driven decision making• Experience with lean UX, design thinking, and ideation methods• Strong interpersonal skills, with to quickly build rapport, establish credibility, and work collaboratively with peers, managers and stakeholders across disciplines and levels• Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills• Naturally curious, empathetic, humble and passionate about product design and research.• Able to train peers and broader team members in proper research techniques• Comfortable applying research within a variety of methodologies and processes (Agile, Lean UX, etc.)• Experience with usability and analytical software (e.g., UserZoom, DScout, Qualtrics, Adobe Analytics)
