Akkodis is seeking an experienced Change and Release Manager for a 12-month contract opportunity with our client in the Financial Services Industry. This role requires 2 days per week onsite, so candidates should reside within a commutable distance to one of the offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Irving TX.

ABOUT THE ROLE:Skill/Experience/EducationMandatory Skills

The Release Manager position will report into the Production Operations organization. This role will be responsible to drive processes for handling of Technology releases, with the goal of maximizing release quality. Responsibilities:

• Partner with Technology teams to define release management processes, including setting requirements (checklist) for what must be in place before a release can be implemented. Define a RACI matrix to outline roles and responsibilities relative to Release Management. Partner with Change Management and Deployment teams to ensure change, release & deployment processes are in sync and complimentary to one another.

• Engage with Technology peers to learn about projects and future releases. Get involved early in the lifecycle to help ensure release preparation is completed in advance. Review and confirm release criteria (checklist) is met including operational readiness.

• Ensure releases are properly communicated. This will include publishing a release calendar, providing release visibility to stakeholders, notifying stakeholders of Go/No-Go decisions, ensuring formal communications are shared with interested parties before, during and after a release.

• For major releases, such as large cross-functional enterprise releases, facilitate release preparation and deployment readiness meetings.

• Document and communicate issues post release. Track issues to resolution. Report on issue trending.

• Identify opportunities for improvement in release preparation and execution, broken down by Technology team. Partner with those teams to drive improvement. This includes measuring teams on how well they fulfill release criteria and working with them to address shortcomings for future releases.

• Define release management related objectives and key results, including key performance indicator metrics. Measure progress and trending.

• Prepare and deliver executive level summary reporting for Release Management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Related field

• Minimum experience of 5 years working in a Technology organization

• Minimum experience of 2 years working as a Release Manager, or in a role that involved managing & executing releases

• Experience with Agile Software development and/or CI-CD framework; also experience shifting an organization from a Waterfall model to an Agile model • Analytical mindset and ability to grasp complex topics

• Understanding of application and infrastructure stacks and technologies

• Excellent verbal and written communications

• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities

• Proven ability to establish and maintain positive customer and team member relationships

Nice To Have:

• ITIL training certification

• Project management experience

• Experience as a user of the ServiceNow platform and JIRA for Change or Release Management

• Familiarity with DevOps tooling for deployments

• Hands on experience deploying changes and releases
